Reblogged from Crazy Train To Tinky Town:
Today I have my first appointment with a Turkish kuaför; that's hairdresser to you and me. Unsurprisingly, Ahmed has a friend who apparently used to look after his mother's hair. The magic words that the woman in your life always wants to hear. Although I suspect that this choice has been price driven or he’s on commission!
So off I trot - well actually Ahmed pulled the car up kerbside and I kind of turtle-rolled out of the car.
Don't worry will be back soon with the next chapter of "Honeymoon" but in the meantime, went to a Turkish Hairdresser today which reminded me of an earlier post and trust me when I say it didn't get any better!
Come on girl, out with it!
Oh yes its neon candyfloss again
Oh the joys of finding a good turkish Kuaför! (is there even such a thing?) Sorry I shouldn’t laugh I know
you’d laugh even more if you saw my barnet! What was I thinking!
Did you post a photo of your hairdo after the appt.? I’m dying to see.
pretend you are one of the fluffy clouds they are leading round on string at the olympic opening here in the UK lol But seriously I remember my first ever perm I went in wanting Whitney houston spiral perm (you know the one from the I wanna dance video) I came out shirley temple I went home sobbing as I washed my haor a dozen times trying to make it drop to no avail
Paula thank you, I feel marginally better now!
So nice to have you back again…. I need my breakfast laugh!
It’s even worse this morning – I don’t think any amount of washing is going to tone down the colour anytime soon
Are you in abaya country? I’ve always thought they’d be real handy in bad hair situations.
Still in Turkey and some of the local hairdressers are truly pants
Oh dear. I know how you feel. Bad hair days feature strongly in my everyday life.
Me too as the humidity plays havoc with my tresses
Hilarious
Hair cuts are an adventure… I’m about to walk out the door, head for the salon, and hope my hairdresser is there. No appointments, budget but great cutter & if you saw my longish, fine hair you’d understand there’s no point in throwing good money at it. If she’s not there it can stay straggly because the alternative would be far worse… but you already know that.
Yours sounds like a happier experience than mine!
Did you find the flax seeds? It makes a great gel, and a wet look may just be the thing to cover this up?
I have got my mum on the case back in the UK and I have contemplated a number of cover ups for said hair disaster – a Turkish Lady I know took one look and gave me one of her scarves!
